THE STRANGERS Star Madelaine Petsch Makes the Case for Playing DC’s Poison Ivy in THE BATMAN 2

We’ve seen more than enough characters like the Joker, Two-Face and The Penguin on our screens over the years. So the hope now is that The Batman Part II And The brave and the bold could shift attention to less familiar faces

Hush, Mr. Freeze, and Poison Ivy are some of the most popular fan suggestions. After dressing up as the latter villain for Halloween a few years ago, Riverdale And The strangers Star Madelaine Petsch has made it clear that she wants to try to transform herself into Pamela Isley on screen.

In a new interview, the actress explained why she was so interested in bringing Poison Ivy to life on screen, and suggested she might do so in Matt Reeves’ film. The Batman following.

“We are working on it” she started. “I dressed up as Poison Ivy. There’s a lot of Halloweens, just to get their attention. It’s like, ‘Hey, Matt Reeves, are we paying attention?’ They haven’t made the movie yet, so who knows?”

The photos below prove that Petsch looks the part, but would she be a good fit for the villain? This is up for debate, although the actress has a large fan base and is clearly passionate about the role.

Barring a major reinvention, Poison Ivy probably isn’t a good fit for Reeves’ Batverse. A character with the ability to control plants and bewitch men with a kiss isn’t really the best choice for the earthly world imagined by the filmmaker, but the DCU and The brave and the bold? That’s a completely different matter.

Reeves has already said that The Batman Part IIThe bad guy is the one who is “never really done it in a movie before” (which gives weight to Hush’s theories).

I knew how to [The Batman] finished, it left us on the edge of the precipice. Likewise, the way events occur in [The Penguin],” he added. “There’s an exploration to be done, and one of the explorations for me was to do something that pushes the character of Bruce Wayne even further.”

“The first story is so much about Batman. I always wanted the movies, and let’s say we could do three – I have no idea – that I always wanted the movies to be focused on his character. A lot of other movies, which I love, once you get past the origin story, you start to tell the story of the thieves’ gallery and that character’s arc.

I never wanted to lose Rob at the center of these stories, so that’s what we really set our sights on.” Reeves added, “Choosing the right villain who digs into what he’s doing and goes into his past and his life, that’s what drove this discussion. We’re very excited about it, and I will say it’s never really been done in a movie before.”
