The stars re-signed Matt Duchene at 4 and $ 18 million contract

Dallas stars re-signed the striker Matt Duchene to a four-year contract worth $ 18 million.

Managing Director Jim Nill announced the agreement on Thursday. Duchene, who would have become a free agent without restriction on July 1, will have $ 4.5 million against the salary ceiling throughout the 2028-29 season.

“We are delighted to recover Matt with our organization,” Nill said in a statement. “As the top scorer of our team last season, he helped consolidate our group above all by offering invaluable leadership out of the ice and in the community. The adjustment with Matt and our team has been transparent from the start, and we are impatient to continue to pursue our common goal of bringing a championship to Dallas.”

Duchene was a point scorer per game – exactly 82 in 82 – in his second season with Dallas. He had only one goal and five assists in 16 playoffs while the stars reached the Western Conference final before losing against the EDMONTON Oilers.

He had played on one year and $ 3 million contracts in each of his two seasons with Dallas.

Duchene, 34, enters her 17th season in the NHL. He has already played for Colorado, Columbus, Ottawa and Nashville since its beginnings in 2009.
