The star of the Anne Burrell food network died at 55

Anne Burrell – The beloved chef known for his thorny platinum hair, his personality greater than life and his culinary expertise – died on the morning of Tuesday, June 17 at his home in Brooklyn, New York. She was 55 years old.

The representatives of the star announced the death of Burrell in a statement obtained by people.

She is survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, whom she married on October 16, 2021, and her son, Javier, as well as her mother, Marlene, and her sister, Jane, her children Isabella, Amelia and Nicolas, and her brother Ben.

“Anne was a wife, a sister, a girl, a mother-in-law and a beloved mother-in-law-her smile illuminated each piece to which she entered,” her family said in a statement. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions around the world. Although she is no longer with us, her warmth, her mind and her unlimited love remain eternal.”

Fan favorite fan of the Food Network, Burrell was best known as the longtime host of America’s worst cooksWhere his passion for food and mentorship transformed disastrous hopes of capable cooks.

Her contagious enthusiasm, her signature laughter and her fierce cooking skills made her a star in the world of gastronomic television.

Born September 21, 1969 in Cazenovia, New York, Burrell discovered her love for cooking early, inspired by Julia Child, inspired by Julia Child.

She studied English and communication at Canisius College in Buffalo before pursuing a culinary career at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, where she graduated in 1996.

The love of Burrell for Italian cuisine led her to the Italian culinary institute for foreigners, where she finished learning and developed a deep appreciation for philosophies of Italian cuisine. Back at the Big Apple, she worked in acclaimed restaurants, notably Felidia under Lidia Bastianich and Savoy in Soho, where she perfected her job in Mediterranean cuisine.

In the early 2000s, Burrell went to teaching at the Institute of Culinary Education and finally made his way on television.

The public of the food network first encountered Burrell as a sous-chef on Iron Chef America. His charisma and culinary chops led to his own spectacle nominated at Emmy Emmy, Secrets of A Restaurant Chefwhich was created in 2008 and ran for nine seasons.

Burrell is the author of two cooking books: 2011 Cooking like a rock starwhich made her a New York Times bestseller, and Have your kitchen: recipes to inspire and allow.

Outside the kitchen, she was deeply attached to philanthropy. She sat on the advisory council of the Garden of Dreams Foundation, was ambassador of celebrities for the research foundation on diabetes for minors and was a dedicated member of the City Harvest’s Food Council.

“I feel so lucky to be able to share my true passion in life with others,” said Burrell.

Burrell and Claxton met on Bumble in 2018.

“I must say that I like to be married,” she told People exclusively during the 40th anniversary gala of City Harvest in April 2023. “We are together all the time because Stuart works at home. It’s all the time together, but it’s also the adventure together.”
