Man United set transfer price for Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United are reportedly willing to let Bruno Fernandes leave for Bayern Munich for just £40million.

That’s an incredibly low price for Fernandes, who is easily the club’s best player in recent years and one of the best attacking midfielders in world football.

It appears, however, that Man Utd’s hands are slightly tied as the Portugal international is not interested in joining a Saudi Pro League club, according to TEAMtalk.

Bayern are being named as a more likely option for Fernandes, which will likely mean the fee for the 31-year-old will be considerably lower.

Hard blow for Bruno Fernandes’ transfer to Manchester United

Ideally, United would surely look to keep Fernandes, even if he doesn’t get any younger, but if that wasn’t possible for them, they would surely hope to make a huge amount of money by selling him to a Saudi club.

Losing someone of Fernandes’ quality to another big European club for just £40 million seems like a potential disaster for the Red Devils, as it wouldn’t give them enough money to spend on finding a suitable replacement.

It previously looked like MUFC could make up to £100million by selling Fernandes, with two big-name replacements being considered, according to Indy Kaila…

However, it now appears that Saudi Arabia is out of the question for Fernandes, who may rightly feel he wants to continue in Europe after underperforming during his time at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes could be a superb signing for Bayern

Although he wouldn’t arrive in his peak years, Fernandes looks like he could be a superb signing for Bayern, especially if they only have to pay £40m for him.

The former Sporting Lisbon player has been a prolific goalscorer in midfield, and one imagines he would find it easier in the Bundesliga, where Bayern tend to be extremely dominant in what is largely a weaker league than the Premier League.

It would be intriguing to see what Fernandes could achieve at Bayern, as it could finally give him the chance to get his hands on league titles and perhaps even the Champions League.
