The “ Souling Friends’ team is launching a new animation studio based on Los Angeles
EXCLUSIVE: Smiling friends The creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel and the producer Aron Fromm have joined forces to launch Zam Studios, a new independent animation studio based in Los Angeles.
Zam will focus on high-quality animation, VFX, production and post-production of all types, according to Cusack, Hadel and Fromm. The studio will also offer customer services for television, feature films and commercial projects, as well as the creation of original content.
“Zam will focus on what matters most in animation – high quality work done by people who understand the process, are obsessed with crafts and have the talent to produce cartoons that take the magic of past years,” said Cusack, Hadel and Fromm in a joint declaration.
The studio manages all the specialties and the animation of the mixed media, the live action, the composition and the VFX for the third season of Smiling friends, which will be presented on Sunday October 5 on Adult Swim and Monday October 6 on HBO Max. The quarter -hour series follows the employees of a small company dedicated to bringing happiness to a bizarre but colorful world. The new season has a mixture of clay, high -end 2D animation, CG animation, stop movement and live action elements.
Cusack (Yolo: Crystal Fantasy) and Hadel (OnePlays, Hellbenders) are co-creators and fromm (Sessions with Stan, Mike Judge: Tourist bus tales) is producer / director on Smiling friends.
Zam Studios’ additional credits include the Smiling friends shorts, Smiling symphonies, Billy Idol should be dead documentary and bumper for Rick & Morty And Adult swimming.
