The showers last on Tuesday before more smoke – Chris

Good Monday evening everyone!

The showers and thunderstorms are going through Minnesota this afternoon and tonight, although not everyone has seen the rain yet. The storms were dispersed and, although certain areas remained dry, others picked up fast showers and gusty winds. A serious thunderstorm watch is in effect west of twin cities until 7 p.m., where storms have the potential to bring strong winds and hail.

The rain continues this evening and Tuesday with showers and some storms integrated probably throughout the day. It will be fresher and cloudy with summits in the 60s, but behind this system, air quality takes another blow.

The cold front moving through more smoke from Canadian forest closer to the surface, which allows a misty sky and poor air quality in the middle of the week. An air quality alert was extended throughout the state until Wednesday evening, and the conditions could be particularly difficult for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.

The sky begins to have fun on Wednesday with the return of the sun and the temperatures warming in the upper 70s. The rest of the week seems seasonal, although several rounds of showers and storms are possible from Friday to Sunday. None of these days looks like washing, but keep an eye on forecasts if you have outdoor plans this weekend.

Do you follow this evening if the storms move in your region and continue to monitor air quality conditions in the coming days
