Washington – The Senate confirmed the former Fox News host, Jeanine Pirro, as the best federal prosecutor in the national capital, fulfilling the post after President Donald Trump withdrew his first controversial choice, the conservative activist Ed Martin Jr.

Pirro, a former county prosecutor and elected judge, was confirmed 50-45. Before becoming the acting American lawyer for the Columbia district in May, she co-organized the Fox News program “The Five” on weekdays, where she frequently interviewed Trump.

Trump took the appointment of Martin after a key republican senator said he could not support him due to Martin’s frank support to the rioters who stormed the American Capitol on January 6, 2021. Martin is now the lawyer for the forgiveness of the Ministry of Justice.

In 2021, the SmartMatic USA voting technology company continued Fox News, Pirro and others for spreading false claims that the company helped “steal” the 2020 presidential election. The defamation pursuit of the company, filed before a New York State court, asked for $ 2.7 billion from defendants.

Last month, republican members of the Senate judicial committee voted unanimously to send the appointment of Pirro to the Senate ground after the Democrats were walked to protest against the appointment of Emil Bove to become a federal judge of the Court of Appeal.

Pirro, a graduate of the Albany law faculty in 1975, has much more experience in the courtroom than Martin, who had never been a prosecutor or tried a case before taking office in January. She was elected judge before the New York Westchester County court in 1990 before spending three terms as an elected district prosecutor of the county.

In the last minutes of his first mandate as president, Trump published a pardon at the former Pirro-Mari, Albert Pirro, who was sentenced in 2000 for conspiracy and tax evasion.
