The sailors of Julio Rodríguez are withdrawing from the game of the stars, citing rest and the preparation of the rest of the season

Seattle’s Navy Voltger, Julio Rodríguez, withdrew from the star match, announcing news on social networks on Friday. In the position, Rodríguez quoted rest and plans to prepare for the rest of the season – and indeed ended the speech as for whether he deserved to be an All -Star.

“I am really honored that my peers voted me in the game of stars – it means a lot for me,” wrote Rodríguez. “As much as I would like to be there, I want to take this time to take care of my body and fully prepare the second half of the season.

“It is really difficult to miss the experience of the stars, but I will encourage all the guys and wish them and their families an incredible week.”

MLB has not yet announced that would replace Rodríguez as a alba reserve AL, but this decision should be announced soon.

In the days following the release of the MLB stars list, Rodríguez’s name appeared as one of the most controversial selections. While the central defender is struggling with a year slightly broken down in attack, Rodríguez’s selection seemed more based on his popularity and his previous star offers than his current year.

Rodríguez, a triple All-Star, previously received the honor in 2022 and 2023. Its figures for 2025 are not below these two years at the break of the stars: the first half of the season, almost finished, the 24-year-old voltiger struck 11 at home with an average of .244 and 0.687 operations.

Rodríguez’s current striker is more in line with his first half of 2024, the only year of his short career that he was not appointed All-Star. Rodríguez’s selection this year has raised some eyebrows accordingly.

But now Rodríguez ends the debates by losing.

Three of the Rodríguez Mariners’ teammates – the recipient Cal Raleigh (who will start), the Bryan Woo launcher and the lifter Andrés Muñoz – will go to Atlanta. And it is possible that another Seattle player goes to the game of the stars: the Voltigeur des Mariners, Randy Arozarena, was considered one of the biggest snobs of the stars this year, and could be a potential replacement for Rodríguez.
