The Ruth Chepngetich marathoner suspended for a positive doping test

MONACO – The world record holder of women Ruth Chepngetich was temporarily suspended for a positive doping test Thursday.
The athletic athletics unit of athletics said that Chepngetich had been tested positive for a diuretic and masked agent prohibited in March and “opted for a voluntary provisional suspension while the AIU investigation was underway”.
The Kenyan runner set the world record almost two minutes at the Chicago marathon last October, finishing in 2 hours, 9 minutes, 56 seconds. It was his third victory in Chicago.
She also won the marathon at the 2019 world championships in Qatar, where the women’s race started at midnight to avoid extreme diurnal heat.
The AIU did not give any calendar for a disciplinary case for the 30 -year -old runner.
Chepngetich was interviewed in person in Kenya in April and “designed requests concerning our investigation,” said Brett Clothier, head of the AIU, in a statement.
The positive tested chepngetich substance for hydrochlorothiazide or HCTZ can be used to disguise the use of drugs improving performance.
