“ The Rookie ” invents new obstacles for Chenford again and I am bored

Publisher’s note: the following contains spoilers for the final of season 7 of the recruit.I am a big ABC fan RecruitBut I must admit that the final of the season (broadcast on May 13) was a little disappointing for me. We did not have much closure on Monica Stevens (Bridget REGAN) be back (except that she is somewhat a free woman!), And Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew’s heads) is again in the wind, even after John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) try to capture it. But there is still a loose end of this season which is currently driving me crazy. For all season 7, I thought Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter), alias Chenford, will finally be united. So imagine my dismay when I looked at the final to discover that not only Chenford is closer to becoming a real couple, but there are still even more boring obstacles in their own way.

Chenford had a very complicated story in “The Rookie”

Even if Lucy and Tim have often felt like #couplegoals for me, their whole romantic story was complicated. The two characters had serious chemistry from the start, but it is not as if they could have acts on it. Lucy begins as Tim’s recruit in season 1, which meant that Tim was the direct superior of Lucy (a factor that could have caused serious HR problems). But their connection only increased. In season 4, the couple act on their feelings for each other, but it is by pretending to be other people on an infiltration mission. They cannot continue to deny what they feel towards each other, and Chenford ultimately became a reality in season 5, to my great joy.

Both are such a couple because they often act like yin and yang. Lucy is sweet and optimistic, and Tim is gruff and cynical. Their differences lead to many light quarrels, which adds a fun dynamic to the series. But then Recruit Writers have decided to break my heart. In season 6, Tim suddenly broke with Lucy, saying that Lucy would be better without him. The series has passed all these following episodes after Tim while working to repair itself, and Lucy as it tries to treat its devastation. This season, there have been several connection situations, where it is clear for viewers that the two are still looking at each other. Even if they try to act as if they no longer wanted to become a couple again, It is so obvious that they are supposed to be together.

We would gladly have the “Tim Test” and review these episodes.

There are even more roadblocks in the Chenford Happiness Chemin in “La Recruit”

In episode 17, Lucy learns that she finally succeeded in her sergeant exam. I certainly thought it meant that Lucy and Tim could repair their relationship, but unfortunately, Lieutenant Wade Gray (Richard T. Jones) attributes Lucy to a quarter night. Now their schedules are completely incompatible, so Lucy barely sees Tim at the station. They would never have any mission on missions either, so how could they operate this relationship in the future? Whenever Tim is out of work, Lucy is in a quarter of work or will catch up with an essential sleep. They must be able to spend quality time together to rekindle what they had, but their different schedules could make it impossible.

In the final of the season, it seemed that Tim and Lucy would finally have a heart to heart which would put them back on the same wavelength. At the end of the quarter of Lucy, she arrives at home to see that Tim manufactures all her favorite foods. While he finishes the kitchen, she sits on the sofa, exhausted, but happy.Tim then implements his soulAnd talks about the amount of work he has done on himself in therapy. He tried very much to repair what is broken in him (harmful reasons transmitted from his toxic father), because he just wants to be worthy of her. He knows he has already spoiled things with Lucy, but he really wants to make things work. He suggests making the next step in their relationship, and he even says he wants Lucy to move with him! My heart is skyrocketing, only for Tim (and I as a spectator) to discover that Lucy quickly sleeps on the sofa. She missed all her sincere speech and her proposal.I am so disappointed that the writers decided to ring Lucy during this conversation, because now the couple is back where they started. What if Tim does not have the confidence necessary to give the speech? Could this couple remain in this purgatory between the two forever?

I just want the Chenford of the recruit to become a realityTim Bradford launches a spatula and kisses Lucy Chen on the cheek in the

This season should have concerned Lucy and Tim to find themselves getting back to each other, but the final just gives us more of the same thing. The night twist is so frustrating for me because not only does she put the romance of Chenford in danger, but she is also isolates Lucy from the rest of the Mid-Wilshire team. If they continue this plot of next season, Lucy would have fewer scenes with everyone (not just with Tim). This could lead the series to feel a little more disjoint and less coherent than when everyone arrives together. We have already seen in the final that the crew of Lucy de Night Shift is in a way of failures (they tend to sleep through their quarter work rather than really doing their work), so it is not as if we obtain a lot of convincing scenarios of these cops.

I really hope that season 8, which is not settled in first before 2026, will allow Lucy to return to the quarter -day with the rest of his friends. Otherwise, Chenford has no chance of meeting for good. And if the writers want to make this fan happy, they will have to give me what I want: Chenford becomes a couple who stay together forever. I am extremely tired of all these obstacles preventing them from being together, especially because no one takes as much slow burns. Lucy and Tim no longer have to worry about this imbalance of power in the workplace, and since Tim is more and more evolved thanks to therapy, there is no excuse not to bring Chenford to life forever.

All episodes of Recruit are now available to broadcast on Hulu in the United States
