The prospect of watching the Grand Chelem champion 24 times Novak Djokovic to take the world number one Jannik Sinner for a place in the Wimbledon final is attractive, but fitness problems remain before Friday’s match.

Djokovic, 38, fell awkwardly in his quarter -final against Flavio Cobolli, but was reproduced to finish victory and progress.

The sinner, meanwhile, injured his right elbow after slipping in the first match of his equality of fourth round with Grigor Dimitrov on Monday.

The Italian finally progressed after his opponent withdrew by an injury, but he had heavy ties on his elbow in his quarter -final victory against Ben Shelton.

Sinner said it would be “100% in shape” to face Djokovic, but the Serbian was not so final and canceled a training session scheduled for Thursday.

The sinner canceled a scheduled session on Tuesday, heading inward for a light stroke while waiting for the results of a scan.

Djokovic may have done the same – but that always throws a doubt about his physical form.
