The return of certain diseases makes it important to obtain vaccines for young children, said the doctor

While students return to school, an examination on which the vaccines are necessary are generally on the list. Wop examines those that are particularly important this year.

“Vaccines are victims of their own success,” said Dr. David Higgins, assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus. “They have been so successful that we do not regularly see illnesses that many of our parents or grandparents have seen, such as polio or measles.”

He said that some parents did not want to give their children vaccines because they have not heard of these diseases recently and do not believe that it is necessary.

“As pediatricians, we went to this field because we are deeply careful about the health of children, and we want to associate with parents to make sure that they make decisions that are really informed with good information to keep their children healthy,” said Higgins about how he would persuade parents to think the opposite.

So what are the vaccines that parents should put on their list?

“We see, across the country, epidemics of measles, and we spend one of our worst years to measles for decades. In addition, we have unfortunately seen epidemics of whooping or darling,” he said.

The measles is very contagious and the symptoms can take place from 72 hours to two weeks after the exhibition, which is why doctors encourage the monitoring of the disease up to two weeks.

And some of these cases were extremely serious.

“We have had several cases where children, generally young infants, died of darling,” he said.

Epidemics of vaccine preventable diseases may be indicative of changing attitudes to vaccines. At the national level, the number of children’s gardens obtaining required vaccines has dropped and the number of children with exemptions from vaccines has reached a record level. Higgins said it can be dangerous when these children go back to school.

“It is important to know that vaccines only hold these diseases at a distance, and as soon as vaccination rates drop, it is not if, but when diseases like measles will return to a community,” he said.
