The Republicans dodge basic questions on the MEDICAID Cup plans: “The decisions have not been made”

The work of the Republicans of the Chamber to carry out Balayage discounts in Medicaid – the social security net program which offers health care coverage for 72 million low -income and disabled Americans – while publicly claiming that they do not continue this week.
The Republicans of the Chamber’s Energy and Trade Committee met on Tuesday morning to try to travel their internal struggle on how they want to make Medicaid cuts. They also firmly held their commitment to publicly masking the poor reduction of the program for those relying on health insurance. As we have pointed out, the committee is responsible for finding $ 880 billion in programs in their jurisdiction – a huge part of which is not only expected, but will almost certainly have to come from Medicaid.
Several options on how to go to the self-imposed targeted discounts of the Republicans of federal expenses are discussed during these meetings, but the GOP conference is apparently at a dead end because many vulnerable republicans oppose the deep cups in Medicaid.
Most of the committee members left the meeting on Tuesday in camera without saying a word. The president of the energy and trade committee, the representative Brett Guthrie (R-KY), has never even been seen when leaving the meeting, at least not by the main door, where journalists were waiting.
Representative Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), a member of the committee, described the meeting of almost two hours as “productive”. “No collage point,” he told journalists dotted outside the room. “The decisions were not made.”
The Republicans of Energy and Trade should meet again tomorrow morning to continue the discussions.
Meanwhile, committee democrats and staff members say that skeptical republicans will be able to respect their self-imposed deadline while they are fighting internally on the sections of the popular program.
“I have not seen a single word of legislation,” the representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told TPM when she left a ground vote on Tuesday.
“From the start, the Republicans tried to have their cake and eat it too, that is to say: to adopt a reconciliation bill which gives massive tax reductions to the richest people of this country, does not explode the deficit, and a segment of them not wanting to reduce Medicaid. And it’s just mathematics.
“There is no way to be able to do the things they want to do without cutting Medicaid. Just the point, empty, end point,” she added. “And so it puts them in an obligation. I think that is why we have seen the markings on Medicaid … To be banged this week because I think they realize that all these promises they have made to different parts of their caucus are not reconciliable.
Asked about the calendar, the New York Democrat said that even if the Republicans could provide the text of the legislation in time, “I don’t know how they will bring together the votes, to be honest.”
Thune recognizes that Ed Martin could be a toast
The head of the majority of the Senate, John Thune (R-SD), acknowledged what journalists have been speculating for a few weeks: that Ed Martin, Trump’s candidate, to be the head of the DCUS lawyer’s office, “probably” does not have the votes to have his appointment of the Senate judicial committee move. This comes after Senator Thom Tillis (R-R-NC) told journalists this week that he had communicated to the White House that he was a “no” on Martin. Tillis has said that much for months, mainly due to Martin’s beliefs on the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.
“I think it would suggest that he will probably not get out of the committee,” said Thune today, referring to “No” by Tillis. The Senate republicans hold a majority of 12-10 on the panel, so Tillis voting against the candidate would leave the dead end 11-11 in the committee.
Tillis met Martin earlier this week to try to develop their differences – because the clock of Martin’s ability to serve a provisional capacity is exhausted and the Panel Democrats indicate their interest in trying to put pressure for a public confirmation audience for Martin. Since he took office as an actor, Martin has used his post to threaten surveys on Trump’s perceived political enemies, including Democratic members of the Congress.

Politico: Trump chooses Rudy Giuliani’s son for the key World Cup post
Andrew Giuliani, who helped Trump on the golf course, had been a special assistant to the president and associate director of the public liaison office during Trump’s first term. Perhaps this apparent demotion had something to do with its ridiculously unsuccessful offer for the governor of New York in 2021 – during which he campaigned as a foreign, citing the suspension of his father’s law in the state. The suspension, of course, was due to its role by trying to steal the 2020 elections in Trump.
Or maybe the demotion was due to the stupid appearance of this campaign video. He apparently recorded in a parking lot, the camera leaning on the back of a car.
