Lafc acquired midfielder Mathieu Choinière on loan from the Grasshopper Club Zurich from the Swiss Super League until December 31, 2025.
Choinière, from Montreal and member of the Canadian national team, came by the CF Montreal youth system after joining his academy in 2011 and signed with the first team of the Canadian club in 2018. He recorded 120 MLS appearances in Montreal (including 89 departures), not having the brand threat in 1123.
“Mathieu is an interpreter experienced in our league whose experience, intelligence and versatility in the midfield will be a huge asset for our group,” said Co-President and Managing Director of Lafc John Thorrington. “We are delighted to welcome him to the LAFC while we are strengthening our list in pursuit of more trophies.”
The 26 -year -old has 17 caps with the Canadian national team, including four appearances and three departures during the Gold Concacaf Cup recently completed this summer.
