Instead, his mandate quickly took place in the middle of a series of disappointing results and growing troubles among fans.

The Rangers season started in disarray, the club undergoing a global defeat of 9 to 1 against the club Brugge in the Champions League qualifiers.

Their domestic shape behaved a little better – it took until the end of September for the team to record their first championship victory, and a series of frustrating prints left them finding momentum.

Martin leaves having won only one of his seven league matches, with a total of five victories in all competitions during his short reign.

In addition to Martin’s departure, assistant Matt Gill and first team coach Mike Williamson also left the club.
