A hiker suffered a deadly snake bite in Tennessee after picking up a bell snake in the Savage Gulf state park, officials at Fox News Digital said.
Matthew Griffith, from the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency, said that a wooden bell snake would be involved last Friday. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency describes the wooden bell snakes as “the largest and most dangerous of the 4 poisonous snakes of Tennessee”.

Griffith also told Fox News Digital that he had not yet been determined why the hiker had picked up the snake.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said that the wooden bell snake is “a large heavy body snake (36.0 to 60.0.0 inches long) with a large triangular head, vertical students and the characteristic nose at the end of the tail.”
