The producers “Elvis” and “Parasite” direct the range of Tokyo market seminars

The producers behind “Elvis” by Baz Luhrmann and Oscar -winning “parasite” of Bong Joon Ho are about to make the headlines of Tokyo Market Tiffcom, the anchoring of a range of 14 sessions which highlight the global ambitions of the Japanese anime, international co -productions and the trade in the drama of Asia.
Schuyler Weiss, producer of “Elvis” by Baz Luhrmann, who obtained eight Oscar nominations, whose best film, will appear in a masterclass presented with the Motion Picture Association and Digital Hollywood University. It will also serve as a guest speaker for the Tiffcom pitch competition, where the winner provides a trip to Los Angeles for the World Cinematographic and Television Immersion Program.
On the co -production front, Choi Yoonhee, CEO of Barunson E & A and producer of “Parasite”, joins Shinya Kawai, known for “Butterfly in shuttle” and “Yi Yi: one and one” to draw practical roadmaps for international collaboration. Additional initiatives include an exchange of producers from Japan-Kore organized by VIPO and KOFIC, with 10 producers selected in the two countries.
Japanese broadcaster will present their global strategies with “Japanese GOES Global Diffusion content” by Beaj, with Wowow, AX-ON, ABC TV, NHK Enterprises and TV Miyazaki. Japanese TV will describe its “Gear, Go Global” campaign, while TBS highlights its strategic alliance with VTV VTV and the activities of its studio The Seven, behind season 3 of “Alice in Borderland” and the entrance to the “Baka’s Identity” Busan competition.
The animation also occupies the front of the stage with the association of Japanese animations presenting new data of its survey on the 2024 industry, as well as case studies on expansion abroad. A panel of collaboration from Hong Kong-Japan will feature the director Raman Hui, producer Polly Yeung and Samuel Choy by Bliss Concepts.
The other strengths include Thai Bl and GL Dramas’ Global Breakout, Huace Film & TV in China with a premium content showcase, a Shanghai Showcase of screen productions, a jetro seminar on Turkish remakes, and Kocca de K-Dramas “Love Phobia” and “Someday of Me”.
Tiffcom is organized by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Communications and Unijapan. The Tokyo market takes place from October 29 to 31 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho-Kan, alongside the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival (October 27 to November 5).
