Last year, reports emerged that Bang and Hybe were investigating allegations of initiate offense linked to the Hybé 2020 IPO, then to Big Hit Entertainment. Hybe was renamed Big Hit in 2021.

“I will come back to Korea to work fully and transparently with investigators and rest these allegations,” wrote Bang, who is currently in the United States “in particular, I feel a deep feeling of regret knowing that our members and artists, who should be focused only on their creative and professional goals, could suffer because of this situation … I understand how my absence can have contributed to confusion and frustration.

BTS, by far the most recognized group on a global scale of the Hybé list, has been on a prolonged interruption since last year, due to the compulsory military service of its members. A return to March 2026 is in preparation.
