The Pitt showrunner needed a condition fulfilled before writing the show





“The Pitt” by Max has been the best medical drama for years, the show being rented for its precision and bringing the stress of the emergency rooms on the screen. “The Pitt” follows first -line health workers in a hospital based in Pittsburgh while they treat all kinds of real -time incidents, which leaves them very little to relax. In addition, the distribution of the series led by Noah Wyle had to follow strict rules on the set to ensure that each episode looked like a living and breathable hospital environment, adding more to the feeling of likelihood of the series.

Although the show is very meticulous in some respects, it has also made a somewhat unconventional trip on the screen. For example, one of the best scenes in season 1 of “The Pitt” was filmed before the writing of the series, but the creators still operated. At the same time, the creation of convincing television programs is a difficult process, and certain episodes of “The Pitt” required an experiment and modifications to the entire series to work.

The Pitt set has been modified for the mass shooting episode

Season 1 of “The Pitt”, episode 12 sees the staff of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital taking care of the victims of a mass shooting. Given the sensitive nature of the subject, the creators of the show ensured that they were honoring real hospital protocols for such situations. This led them to separate the whole into colorful areas, which reflected all the different levels of severity for patients who had to be treated.

In an interview with Variety, Nina Ruscio remembers having traveled in hospitals for ideas on how to rebuild the set on “The Pitt” for this episode. The production designer also spoke with doctors who had worked in hospitals after the shooting of the Pulse nightclub in 2016, which spoke of using each space available in their hospitals to ensure that each patient could be treated. To quote Ruscio:

“The real architecture of space was reversed as a black and white image, and we have changed the physical dynamics of space to be able to manage several victims at the same time – imagine it like the center of a wheel, and there would be patients in gurneys all around doctors. I speak in a very detached way, but the horror level of all this is very similar to a war.”

This episode only solidifies the show’s commitment to the details, the precision and the desire to explore the horrors that health workers are confronted on a daily basis. In no case does this make a pleasant vision, but the profession exposed in “The Pitt” is undeniable.
