The Parisians hold on but remain at the top of Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain were held to a 1-1 draw by Lorient as the Ligue 1 champions missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Luis Enrique’s side had the opportunity to move four points clear of beaten second-placed Lens in their clash with Metz, but a largely lackluster performance from the European champions means the gap is now just two points.
Marseille could move ahead of Lens and PSG with a win over Angers later today.
Nuno Mendes put PSG ahead, but Igor Silva brought the hosts back level minutes later.
The Parisians, as expected, dominated possession, but they were unable to break down a diligent defense from Loriet.
But after a goalless first half and very few clear-cut chances, the visitors broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart.
Vitinha, a half-time substitute, spotted Désiré Doué on the right. The winger’s cross found Mendes at the far post, whose initial header was saved by Yvon Mvogo, but the Portuguese player pushed away the rebound.
However, the response was instantaneous. On Lucas Chevalier’s punch, Silva pounced on the loose ball and fired a thunderous effort beyond the PSG keeper to level the score.
Mvogo then did well to prevent Vitinha, who had been a game-changer since coming on, from giving the champions the lead with just under 20 minutes remaining.
The hosts had a dangerous period late in the match before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made another save from Mvogo.
It was the last action of a match where, this is not the first time this season, PSG failed to give the best of itself.
