[This story contains spoilers for episode five of The Paper, “Scam Alert.”]
The fifth episode of Paper Presents an appearance invited outside the scope by a well -known actor playing himself – more or less.
Josh Holloway (Lost, Yellowstone, Duster) Appears in the episode, entitled “alert of the scam”. THE TOLEDO TRUTH-TELLER Discuss in a cat fishing scam that targets city residents, and it turns out that the crook uses Holloway’s resemblance – and even pour it to make videos by the cameo – to lower the victims. The Catfisher pretends to be a soldier stationed in Germany who needs money to help buy a ticket for Thanksgiving, in climbing from there.
As True-Dicheur The editor -in -chief (Domhnall Gleeson) presents the details of the scam during a meeting, Esmeralda (Sabrina Impacciatore) leaves the room silently and closes the door of his office. The staff quickly realized that she is also a victim – to the pleasure of Nicole (Ramona Young), which Esmeralda has insulted several times. When Ned confronts her (in the hope of bringing her point of view in the first person into a story), however, she doubles and insists that the person with whom he communicates, “Jarson”, is real and really loves her.
To prove it, Esmeralda shows the office a photo of Jarson, which everyone immediately recognizes as Holloway – “Sawyer de LostRoarke of Yellowstone», Note Oscar (Oscar Nuñez). Holloway-As-Jarson then sends him a video message, referring to himself in the third person and other summary things that reads “scam” to everyone except her.
So – Why Josh Holloway? Paper The creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman and the casting director Leslie Woo said The Hollywood Reporter that by writing the episode, they discussed several possibilities for Catfisher’s avatar. “We tried to understand:” Well, if it’s that person, it’s story. ” If this is that person, we could use it as a history, ”recalls Daniels.
Woo said Holloway’s name has passed the list fairly quickly. “We had to throw an extremely attractive actor who is so well known on a global scale that he would be shocking for one of our other characters not to know who he was,” she said. “Almost immediately after sending the pages for his consideration, he responded with enthusiasm. He was on the set a few days later. ”
Holloway (like himself, this time) also records a video of Camée for Nicole in the episode, explaining to Esmeralda that he is in fact not Jarson. “I don’t know how our sons were crossed,” he said. “I just say what they tell me to say here. We are not in love. I am in love with my wife, Yessica. Mahalo! ” The story ends with Esmeralda by looking at a Lost Episode where Sawyer takes a hit.
“It worked very well for various reasons,” said Koman. “Some of this is just the appearance he looks like, and he has a very good friendly quality that I could see him speak very sincerely on a cameo. And he had this program where there are images of him which brought out the shit that Esmeralda would like to watch at the end of the episode.”
