Reimis Smith marked a hat -trick against Castleford while the Catalans returned to victory
Reimis Smith marked a hat trick while the Catalan dragons ended a series of six consecutive defeats from Betfred Super League by driving Castleford Tigers 38-4.
Beginner Alfie Lindsey advanced visitors, but the Catalans rugged with a pair of trials from the New Zealand center Smith to lead 10-4 at halftime.
Fouad Yaha, Luke Keary, Guillermo Aispuro-Bichet, who also launched eight points, and Alrix Da Costa continued the momentum of the Dragons before Smith ended his triples to death for an essential victory for the French outfit.
The Catalans missed the winger Tommy Makinson with a shoulder injury and was replaced by the top scorer of all time of the Yaha club.
Joe Westerman went to France but did not make the final cup while Castleford struck by the injury started the teenager Lindsey on the wing.
Home coach Joel Tomkins had asked his players to smile on the faces of French supporters who did not have much to cry in a season to forget.
How the match went
There was more misery in the first minutes when the great-back Aispuro-Bichet overturned the ball on its own 20 meter line and that Castleford Hooker Liam Horne traveled the messages with the loose ball, although the video referee Jack Smith refused the test after decided that a tackle had been finished.
There was no doubt a few moments later when Lindsey dotted in the right corner after a scanning movement after a period of intense pressure on the dragons line.

Yaha extended the advantage of the local team when the winger collected a long pass from Keary to cross in the left corner in the 49th minute, and things got worse for Castleford when the great-back Jenson Windley left the field with a concussion.
The dragons went further when Ollie spins nourished Keary for a walk on the line for the killer test in the 61st minute.
His half-dos partner, Theo Fages, then won a kick of 40-20 and Aispuro-Bichet was next to scoring with a test on the left while the Catalans showed the heat.
Hooker Da Costa added more gloss with a failed brand missed on the line before Smith finished his triplet late.
