As he looks to return to the world level, Dubois’ team will begin negotiations to face Cuban Frank Sanchez in an elimination match to become the mandatory challenger for the IBF championship.

“We’re going to sit down and obviously it’s going to happen,” Dubois promoter Frank Warren said. Aerial sports.

“He’ll come back in the new year and he’ll be in a big fight.”

Sanchez might be willing to box Dubois in Britain. His co-manager Mike Borao said Aerial sports: “Frank Sanchez has made it clear that he will fight Dubois in the UK, Saudi Arabia, USA, wherever his main goal is victory, not the location of the fight.

“You never know how a negotiation will go until you’re really into it, but it’s always a pleasure to deal with good people who know the industry like Frank and George. [Warren].

“Sanchez is a boxer-puncher, while Dubois is a pure puncher. The styles virtually guarantee an explosive, fan-friendly fight. That said, three top boxers have already avoided Frank for the eliminator, I’m cautiously optimistic that Daniel won’t be the fourth”

Warren is looking for Dubois to push for another world title in 2026.

“Of course he will. He’s only 28. He’s 28 now, he’s a baby for a heavyweight and look at his losses,” the promoter said.

Take a look at highlights from Oleksandr Usyk’s dramatic knockout victory over Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium

Warren, however, is confident that Dubois will improve after his experiences with Usyk.

“He better be, otherwise it’s all over. You have to learn and he has to step up. He has to show everyone what he is about,” he said.

“That’s what he has to do. We know he can punch. He always puts in exciting fights and when you think about it, in his last two fights in a row, more people saw him live than any other fighter. Almost 190,000 people saw him live in back-to-back fights.

“He’s exciting. He never gets into a boring fight.”
