A hotel guest unloaded a pistol from Manchester police on Saturday afternoon, and an officer turned fire, injuring the guest, said officials from the New Hampshire prosecutor’s office.

The guest, a man, was shot down around 4:40 p.m. Saturday at the Fairfield Inn hotel at 860 South Porter Street.

The officials said that the hotel staff called for the police because the man refused to leave his room after the time of departure.

When the police contacted the guest inside the room, the man fired on police, said officials. No officer was injured.

According to the investigators, a Manchester policeman turned fire, injuring the man. After the man was killed, the police provided help, said officials. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment. It is listed in a stable state.

Investigators said there was no threat known for the public as part of the shooting.

The officials said that the identity of the officer who used murderous force will not be released until an official interview.
