The former player of the national cricket team of India and the father of the legendary versatile Yuvraj Singh, Yograj Singh, leveled shocking allegations of “matches” against Kapil Dev.
Yograj Singh asked why the match case, involving Captain of 1983, Captain Kapil Dev was closed and did not discuss.
What was the scandal for fixing matches involving Kapil Dev?
In June 1997, the former Indian cricket player Manoj Prabhakar said that Kapil Dev, among others, had offered him money to underform matches at the 1994 Singer Cup in Colombo.

After the shocking allegations, the BCCI was forced to form a commission led by former chief judge Yv Chandrachud to investigate the issue.
The Committee investigated the allegations made by Prabhakar and published the conclusions in April 2000. Prabhakar was criticized for waiting for 3 to 6 years after the alleged incidents to make the question public. In addition, he did not appoint alleged corruption and provided no support evidence, and his allegations were deemed factually incoherent.
In 2000, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the BCCI anti-corruption agent, K. Madhavan, undertook new surveys and submitted the report on November 1, 2000, which found no credible evidence connecting Kapil Dev to any match or corruption. The legendary versatile was sentenced to a hit in this area, and the case was closed.

In an interview with Insideport, Yograj mentioned how Kapil, Mohammad Azharuddin and others were involved in the game fixing scandal and demanded that the file be reopened. He said:

Yograj Singh also said that the file will not be reopened because many legendary heads would run. The former Indian player also recalled how one of his friends, who was a journalist, was once threatened. He developed:
“No. Why? There are a lot of legends heads would roll. I told you what is the truth and what is a lie. Why don’t do it? I said it several times. We have Mr. Luthra. He was a journalist. He was my best friend. We had talked a lot.
“I said, are you afraid of these things? You are afraid they say something to your family, they will burn your office. They even transformed it into a goon here. That is why people are afraid.”
