“The Secretary of Defense is now threatening to deploy Marines in active service on American soil against his own citizens. This is disturbed behavior,” wrote Newsom on X.
Previously, Pete Hegseth, the controversial and hard secretary of the defense of Donald Trump, had raised the possibility of deploying American navies in the streets of the state managed by the Democrats in the midst of the demonstrations which had broken out following the Ice Raids in the State.

A person was arrested during the night in connection with the demonstration in Paramount, according to the Sheriff department of Los Angeles.
The New York Times reported that two officers had been treated at the hospital for injuries and released.
He added that a car had been burned and a fire in a local shopping center had been extinguished.
President Trump seems to have used a federal law to order the National Guard to go to Los Angeles, rather than the 18th century insurrection law.
The National Guard is a hybrid entity which serves state and federal interests. Often it operates under the command and control of the state, using state financing. Sometimes, the national guard troops will be affected by their state to serve federal missions, remaining under command of the State but using federal funding.
The law cited by the proclamation of Trump places the troops of the National Guard under federal command.
