The must-have replacement for RL Stine’s “Goosebumps” (which you haven’t heard of yet) is finally coming to streaming

RL Stine is looking to scare viewers young and old this Halloween. The latest adaptation of the pre-teen terror titan debuts on streaming (and screaming) today, and it won’t cost you anything. RL Stine Pumpkin Head is now streaming for free on Tubi. Pumpkin head (no relation to Stan Winston(the first film from 1988) centers on Sam and Finn, two brothers who move to the rural community of Redhaven with their widowed mother. Redhaven, where “the harvest never ends,” is pretty spooky; the people are not friendly and there are scary scarecrows everywhere.
The scariest of all is old farmer Palmer, who is strangely protective of his prize pumpkins. Sam, still embittered by his father’s death, steals one, prompting Finn to return it… but Finn never returns from Palmer’s farm, and everyone in town seems to have forgotten he ever existed. It’s up to Sam, his new friend Becka, and town weirdo Rusty to save him…if they can save themselves from Palmer’s supernatural pumpkin child sacrifice curse and a very sinister (and very alive) scarecrow. The film captures the essence of Stine’s 1990s Goosebumps Heyday in a fun shocker for the whole family. It features Kevin McNulty (Schmigadoon!), Bob Frazer (Falling sky), Matty Finochio (Riverdale), Seth Isaac Johnson (My old ass), and newcomers Bean Reid And Adeline Lo like Sam and Becka.
