The moviegoers warned

Thousands of national moviegoers could soon see longer advertising periods before the showtime.
Controversial change should affect consumers who frequent a beloved cinema chain as part of a new agreement.

From this month, those who go to their local location of AMC theaters for the latest blockbuster can meet 25 to 30 minutes of announcements and trailers before its start, by CNN.
The AMC concluded an agreement with National Cinemedia in June which led to announcements in what is known as “Platinum Spot”, the brief period which takes place immediately before the start of a film.
As a general rule, a projection will feature advertisements beforehand, trailers of films to come, then a last brief note of the theater itself before the official start of the film.
It would seem that this thesis can again offer announcements instead.

National Cinemedia is a company that provides announcements to several main competitors with AMC, but the agreement will now allow the AMC to obtain additional announcements and generate more income, which it really needs.
Aside from the pandemic era, when the AMC almost went bankrupt, the company recently saw its worst profile report in the first quarter in almost 30 years, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The agreement with National Cinemedia is also in a way a reversal of 180 degrees of the original position of AMC on advertisements in 2019.
The Cinemas Regal and Cinemark had signed similar agreements with the company at the time, but AMC refused.
At the time, AMC even noted that it “categorically rejected” the offer, detailing the concerns that “American moviegoers would react quite negatively to the concept”.
AMC said in June that research determined that this hypothesis was not exact.
“While AMC was initially reluctant to bring this in our theaters, our competitors have fully participated for more than five years without any direct impact on their attendance,” the company told Bloomberg.
Although sales of cinema tickets generally bounce full stops in 2020, other challenges such as the actors and writers of 2023 disrupted the hours and added more pressure above the streaming platform problems which have already been present.
To reduce costs, AMC has closed around 169 theaters since 2019, according to comments from CEO Adam Aron in an interview with The Wrap.
He currently has an imprint of around 540 nationally.

Ticket sales at the box office overall also amounted to approximately $ 8.7 billion in 2024, down 3.3% from one year to the next, per variety.
This has also dropped by 23.5% since the total of $ 11.3 billion in 2019.
However, the summer box office in 2025 has giants like Jurassic World: Rebirth, Superman and Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The current figures show the 2025 box office with just under $ 4 billion, an increase of 18% compared to the same era last year, according to Comscore data.
About $ 380 million can be allocated to Lilo & Stitch Remake live from Disney alone.
Delivery debacle
Last year, AMC also made waves among moviegoers after Tiktker Kikntiger (@kikntiger) spotted a sneaky hidden overload on its reception.
The influencer showed screenshots in a video, which showed “delivery costs” of $ 2 in addition to the purchases of a popcorn bucket and two drinks.
“The delivery costs in a cinema are crazy,” he exclaimed.
A total was listed at more than $ 24 and several other customers were furious.
“Add to the list of reasons for which I am no longer going to the cinema,” someone wrote.
“It looks like they don’t want me to see movies,” added another.
AMC did not respond to the request for comments from the American Sun.
The Regal cinemas also amazed customers in December after a 12 -screw location suddenly closed after 28 years.
The US Sun also has an overview of the older cinema that works all year round with $ 12 tickets for double features.
