Everton has had an encouraging transfer window so far, and there is chances that it is still improving in the coming weeks. David Moyes wants important reinforcements to be brought, and soon, there could be a new addition to the center of the midfielder.
After the departure of Abdoulaye Doucoure, whose contract expired at the end of June, it is necessary for a new midfielder to be added to the Moyes team. And in recent weeks, a target that has emerged is Douglas Luiz, which has been strongly linked to a return to the Premier League after a disastrous season of 2024-25 with Juventus.
People like Liverpool, West Ham and Leeds all recorded their interest in Luiz, who left Aston Villa in an agreement of 50 million euros 12 months ago. However, Everton received a huge boost in the Brazilian international race.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Luiz puts pressure for a return to England, and he distinguished Everton as a favorite destination. Nottingham Forest and West Ham are both known as clubs also in the running, but they are currently following their premier League rivals.
Although this is good news for Everton, there is a problem. They want to sign Luiz on a right loan, while Juventus wants to include an obligation to buy – with the desired costs which would be close to the 50 million euros they paid last summer.
This is a problem for Everton and Luiz, the indication being now for an acceptable solution to look for in the coming weeks. If an agreement may be concluded, it would be a declaration of intention of the Toffees, which target a great improvement compared to the previous seasons.
