The man killed at Black Knight Bow Benders Strike identified as Robert Montgomery; 14 others injured

Jackson Twp., NJ (WPVI) – One person died and more than a dozen others were injured during a lightning strike in an outdoor archery range in the canton of Jackson, New Jersey on Wednesday.
The emergency teams were sent around 7 p.m. to Black Knight Bow Benders, which is located on Perrineville Road block in Ocean County.
According to police from the canton of Jackson, Robert Montgomery, 61, from Cinnaminson, died of his injuries. He was identified as a member of the range, said the director of advertising of Black Knight Bow Benders, Gene Grodzki.
Fourteen others have been injured ranging from burns to non -specific complaints not to feel good, police said.

The police said that the archery event on the spot was organized and assisted by members of the Jackson Cub Scout Pack 204. The injured victims are between 7 and 61 years old.
“Please pray for all the people involved in this tragic incident,” noted the governor of New Jersey Phil Murphy in a press release.
The mayor of the canton of Jackson, Michael Reina, told our Sister Wabc-TV station that he was deeply saddened by the loss of life. He credited the actions of emergency stakeholders, saying that at least one of the victims had been relaunched by the RCR.
According to Reina, eight of the victims are juveniles of the Boy Scout group.
Grodzki says he tried to help those who were affected. He even felt the electricity himself.

“He struck this tree. You can see where the roots are exposed under the tree. The dirt stolen, and one of the club members, a big guy like a 240-pound guy, was thrown against the tree,” he recalls.
This is the 12th death of lightning of the year in the United States and the second in New Jersey. There have been 18 deaths of lightning in New Jersey since 2006.
