Tony Haynes, longtime member of Wolfpack Sports Network, will retire after the 2025 football season.
Haynes worked as a touch journalist for football Broadcasts, basketball analyst and Play-By-Play advertiser for baseball.
“When I listened to Wally Ausley and Garry Dornburg called NC State Games in adolescence, I always thought it would be a nice job; well, it was,” said Haynes in a press release issued by the university. “I would like to thank everyone in NC State, including administrators, coaches and athlete students for giving me the necessary access to provide the best possible information to our fans.”
Haynes also thanked Learfield, Wolfpack Sports Properties, the broadcast team and Wolfpack fans.
“Your passion for the pack is what makes NC state experience so unique and special,” said Haynes. “Thank you for your support for the past 28 years.”
The 2025 season will mark the 28th in Haynes with the Wolfpack football program.

Haynes graduated from 1984 from NC State. He made his debut on the radio as a sports director of the NC State WKNC 88.1 FM student radio station from 1982 to 1984.
After graduating, Haynes joined Wkix 850 in Raleigh as a jockey record and sports journalist from 1984 to 1989.
Haynes joined the Duke Radio Network as a touch journalist in 1987 and later became a member of the Duke Basketball Radio team in 1993.
The native of Lynchburg, Virginia, also worked as a presenter / sports journalist for the North Carolina News Network of 1989-2000.
