  • 🎧 Meg Anderson of NPR First that after having examined the murder rates of last yearShe found that many states that send troops have cities with higher crime counts than the capital. In Jackson, Miss., The murder rate is four times higher than that of Washington, and in Memphis, it is almost triple. Washington still has a higher rate of crimes higher than some other major cities, including New York, but the figures drop. Insha Rahman, with the Defense Defense Group of the Institute of Justice Vera, said that the enrollment of governors by the president to send troops to signal political power, and that it is not a question of making cities safer.

European leaders have urgently determined the next steps to end the almost four -year war in Russia in Ukraine After their meeting at the White House on Monday. Trump has excluded the sending of American troops to join a force led by Europe which would preserve itself against another potential Russian invasion. Less than 24 hours after the meetings with Trump, the leaders of the European Union who were present were in virtual sessions by debriefing their counterparts.

  • 🎧 The urgency shows how high it is for Europesaid journalist Teri Schultz. Trump has promised that the United States will help security guarantees for Ukraine, but the president clearly said he wanted Europe to take the lead. The president of the European Council, António Costa, says that there is a difficult route to come, but the support of the United States has reassured. An unanswered question is how Europeans are willing to send their people to Ukraine, because it is not clear if the mission would be to monitor, strengthen or defend a cease-fire. These terms all mean very different things and have different levels of danger for deployed people.

Texas legislators are expected to vote in favor of redrawing the map of the State Congress today. The bill would then go to the Senate tomorrow, then to Governor Greg Abbott, who should sign it. The Democrats of Texas left the state for a few weeks to slow down this process. On their return, Texas Republican President Dustin Burrows ordered the Democrats to sign a paper committing to presenting themselves today if they wanted to leave the building after work earlier this week.

  • 🎧 The new map, which could bring five new GOP seats, could make all the difference for the RepublicansWho currently holds the house by a few seats, said Blaise Gainey from the Texas editorial room. Democrats say that the new card weakens black and Latin votes illegally, and they will contest it in court. California Democrats also plan to vote this week on a map that would give an advantage to five other Democrats in the House next year. In California, the law obliges an independent committee to reduce, but the state requests the approval of voters during a special election in November.

Living better is a special series On what it takes to stay healthy in America.

Counting the steps is the main way in which many people follow their daily activity – or lack. Many Americans spend more than nine hours sitting every day and could probably take a few more steps. But how many daily steps do you need to improve your health? New research, published in Lancet’s public healthsuggests that 7,000 is a good target, the more you move, the less likely you are dying of cardiovascular disease and other ailments. However, evidence does not reduce the value of obtaining more than many steps a day. Here’s what research has revealed:

  • 🚶‍♀️ The largely cited objective of 10,000 stages is not rooted in solid science; Instead, it was popularized by a Japanese promotional campaign.
  • 🚶‍♀️ The study revealed that taking 7,000 steps per day reduced the chances of developing type 2 diabetes by 14%, cardiovascular disease of 25%, 22%depression symptoms and dementia of 38%.
  • 🚶‍♀️ The study could not draw definitive conclusions to find out if the speed you take your steps made a difference. There are different ways to measure the intensity and the distinctions observed could simply reflect a better overall physical form and better physical function.

3 things to know before leaving

This conception of the undated artist published by NASA on April 13, 1999 shows an intermediate black hole, which exists at the heart of spiral galaxies through the universe. Black holes do not emit light. What is visible from the earth is the accretion disc (the swinging material in the black hole, often shiny in energy x) and jets (particle beams moving away from the black hole). An intermediate black hole is 100 to 10,000 times more massive than the sun, but occupies a smaller region than the moon. Previously, only two types of black holes existed: stellar black holes, several times more massive than the sun, and supermassive black holes, with the mass of a million or a billion times that of the sun.
