The legend of Manchester United, Paul Scholes, urged the young midfielder Kobbie Main to demand the responses of manager Rúben Amorim after being neglected in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Speaking on the first episode of The Good, The Bad and the Football Podcast with Nicky Butt and Paddy McGuinness, Scholes insisted that Mainoo must “knock on the manager’s door” and ask why he does not trust a starting role.
Despite the excellent for United last season and pierced in the England national team, Mainoo was appointed to the bench in each of the four first league games of United this season.
Amorim would have said at the age of 20 that he was in direct competition with Captain Bruno Fernandes for one of the two advanced roles in the midfield, leaving Mainoo in a difficult position.

Frustrated, Mainoo even asked to leave the club on loan at the end of the transfer window, but United blocked this decision, insisting that it is part of the long -term project.
Scholes, however, thinks that the young person should be more energetic.
“After a few games where Bruno did not play well, why does he not ask the question?” Said Scholes.
“Monday morning, he should be in the office of Amorim asking to know why he does not start.”
The debate also addressed the recent saga involving Alejandro Garnacho, which fell with Amorim and was quickly fell from the plans of United.
McGuinness suggested that this could serve as a warning to other young people, Butt and Scholes recognizing that Mainoo could be “frightened” of the repercussions to directly challenge the manager.

The teenager is undoubtedly the graduate of the most promising academy since Marcus Rashford, and his technical quality and his maturity even at a young age already looks in the Premier League.
Righting to slow down its development through limited minutes would be a mistake.
The insistence of Amorim on the installation of Mainoo in the same support as Fernandes also seems questionable. While Fernandes thrives as a creative playmaker, Mainoo offers a different profile. He is more a runner, a controller and someone who can make room in the midfield.
