The second legendary player of the Chicago Cubs, Ryne Sandberg, published an update of his health on Instagram, saying that he “continues to fight” his cancer.

Sandberg received a prostate cancer diagnosis in January 2024. He suffered treatment and shared that he had been declared without cancer in August of the same year. In December, he told fans that cancer had returned and spread to other organs, CBS Sports reported.

Last week, Sandberg shared another update on his social networks, writing: “It was difficult for a few months because I am regularly followed.

Sandberg wrote that he had not been able to be in Wrigley Field as much as he wanted so far this year, but has encouraged the team and watched from his home.

Sandberg was elected to the temple of renowned baseball in 2005. He spent 15 seasons with the Cubs, appeared in 10 star games, won nine gold gloves and seven Silver Slugger Awards, and was appointed MVP National Lege in 1984.
