The national meteorological service of Mexico, in coordination with the United States National Hurricane Center, maintains several surveillance and prevention zones:

  • Hurricane wind monitoring: From Western Acapulco to Tecpan de Galeana, Guerrero.

  • Prevention of tropical storms: From the east of Puerto ángel to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca.

  • Prevention of tropical storms: From Western Acapulco to Tecpan de Galeana, Guerrero.

Rights up to 400 mm are planned, which could cause sudden floods and landslides, especially in tilted land areas.

The Coast of Guerrero and Chiapas expect waves of 5.0 to 6.0 meters and Oaxaca can expect a storm tide of 2 to 2.5 meters, conditions that can increase during the afternoon.

The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, published in her account X, a call to the population of the coasts of Guerrero and Oaxaca to “stay attentive to official communication, protect yourself at home and, if you live in low or near rivers, go to available shelters”.
