The largest digital camera ever built publishes its first glamorous plans in the universe

New York – The largest digital camera ever built published its first glamorous plans in the universe on Monday – including colorful nebulae, stars and galaxies.

The Vera C. Rubin observatory, located at the top of a mountain in Chile, was built to take a more in -depth look in the night sky, covering the hidden corners. Funded by the US National Science Foundation and the American Department of Energy, he will study the Southern Ciel for the next 10 years.

The first look of the observatory presents the vibrant trifid and lagoons nebula of the thousands of light years of the earth. A light year is nearly 6 miles. A group of galaxies known as Cluster Virgo was also captured, including two bright blue spirals.

The observatory hopes to image 20 billion galaxies and discover new asteroids and other celestial objects.

The effort bears the name of the astronomer Vera Rubin, who offered the first enticing proof that a mysterious force called Dark Matter could hide in the universe. The researchers hope that the demanding camera of the observatory could give clues to this elusive entity with another called Dark Energy.
