The judge rejects the request for administration Trump to release the documents of Jeffrey Epstein Grand Jury

A federal judge said that he would not exempt the transcriptions and exhibitions of the Grand Jury of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein – rejecting the request of the Ministry of Justice to make them public.
Justice Richard Berman said the Ministry of Justice had not overcome a precedent for a long time to keep the materials of the Grand Jury sealed and noted that the information contained in sealed materials is low compared to the entire investigation file already in the hands of the Doj.
“The information contained in the transcriptions of the Grand Jury of Epstein pale compared to the information and investigation equipment of Epstein between the Ministry of Justice,” wrote the judge.
The Ministry of Justice refused to comment on Berman’s decision. It is the third federal judge to refuse to publish transcriptions and evidence linked to the Epstein of a large jury.
The decision comes as the Trump administration faced increasing pressure to disclose more information on Epstein files, especially after senior officials have promised to do so.
“The government is a logical party to make a complete disclosure to the public of Epstein files. In comparison, the instant motion of the Grand Jury seems to be a” diversion “of the breath and the scope of Epstein files in possession of the government,” wrote Berman on Wednesday.
The judge added another imperious reason to keep the sealed files made up of “possible threats to the security and privacy of the victims”.
Prosecutor General Pam Bondi released binders to influencers from right -wing social media to the White House in February, but many influencers shared that Binders have revealed any new information concerning Epstein files.
The Ministry of Justice began to revoke its promises to disclose more information in the case of Epstein in May and to minimize the situation. Bondi alerted Trump in May that his name appeared in the files.
On July 7, the DOJ published an unsigned note saying that they would no longer publish documents concerning Epstein files. The lack of transparency in memo only angry democrats, the public and even the members of the political base of Trump.
The Ministry of Justice has explored several avenues to have more information published, in particular by asking two federal judges in New York to unscatm the Grand Jury in the case of Epstein and the Ghislaine Maxwell affair. Maxwell is the longtime partner of Epstein who is currently serving a 20 -year prison sentence for having carried out a program of several years with Epstein to prepare and sexually abuse minor girls.
New York Federal Judge Paul Engelmayer rejected the Ministry of Justice’s request for the Grand Jury’s documents in the case of Maxwell on August 11 in a scathing opinion, claiming that the premise of the Doj’s argument was false and that the request was not a question of public interest.
The Ministry of Justice also asked to disappoint the materials of the Grand Jury to a Federal Tribunal in Florida, and a judge quickly refused the request.
In addition, the deputy prosecutor Todd Blanche conducted a two -day interview with Maxwell on July 24 and 25 at the US prosecutor’s office in Tallahassee, Florida. The Ministry of Justice works on the transcription of a 10 -hour audio band from the interview.
