Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz believes that it is likely that the deceased leader of Hamas, Yehya Al-Sinwar, was killed in an attack in the Gaza Strip a few days ago, according to the media on Sunday.

“Although there is not yet an official confirmation, all the indications are that Mohammed Al-Sinwar has been eliminated,” said the information website that Ynet quoted Katz at a committee meeting.

Mohammed Al-Sinwar is Yehya Al-Sinwar’s younger brother, who is considered the brain behind the attacks of October 7, 2023 against Israel and killed by the Israeli army in Gaza in October of the year. He became head of the Hamas armed wing after the death of Mohammed DEIF in July.

Following an Israeli attack on a Khan Younis hospital in the South Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the Israeli media reported that the attack was intended for Mohammed Al-Sinwar, but the officials refused to comment.

According to hospital reports, several people were killed in the strike. The Israeli army said that it had led a “precise attack on Hamas terrorists in a command and control center”.

According to an unconfirmed Arab media report, Mohammed Al-Sinwar’s body was found in a Khan Younis tunnel. The Israeli army was unable to confirm it during the request Sunday morning.
