The IPL return could be a distant dream if Navdeep Saini continues to weaken at DPL 2025

After the first three outings, Navdeep Saini managed only one counter in a poor 10.55 economy at the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025.
The name of Navdeep Saini brought a weight in Indian cricket circles. As a bowling alley who could reach speeds up to 150 km / h, Navdeep Saini was known for his ability to dispatch strikers. But as things arise today, these memories seem distant. Three games in the Premier League of Delhi (DPL) 2025, the return of Saini in shape is still nowhere in sight. His performances do not do much to change the perception of a quick launcher who fights against time.
Another forgettable outing for Navdeep Saini
East Delhi’s runners entered their latest confrontation against New Delhi Tigers with a momentum firmly on their side. The two spinners of the left arm, Rounak Waghela and Ashish Meena, operating in tandem, had stifled the opposition through the media, reinforcing the pressure on a surface which was hardly ideal for a big blow. This is where Saini was supposed to intervene, to capitalize on strangulation. Instead, he defeated all the hard work.
Bowling its usual hard hard, Saini offered predictability. Although he sometimes adjusted his pace, the absence of bodies and Yorkers was particularly surprising. Strikers, well placed at that time, feasted on their deliveries back and turned the trend in favor of New Delhi. His 1/52 fate meant that East Delhi’s runners conceded 172 on land that required the strikers, not fireworks.
Deepak Punia (41 out of 15), the hard striker for New Delhi Tigers, notably caused chaos. He hammered Saini for 23 points in just seven deliveries. In the PowerPlay, the operator Shivam Gupta (38) also struck Saini for 18 points in 10 balls.
Saini needs to shoot and fast
It was not just a unique performance either. Saini’s figures were quite poor. He obtained his first DPL 2025 Wicekt in the third match, which also came at a stadium when the strikers tried to equalize everything from the ground. The saini economy of 10.55 and an amazing strike rate of 66 only paint a sorry painting.
In his DPL opening match, he went without a counter for 36 points. Then came another silent outing against the legends of West Delhi (0/28) before this last hammering in the hands of New Delhi Tigers.
For someone who invented ipl 2025 auction, DPL was supposed to be the platform to recover lost ground. Instead, it was a continuation of his difficulties. Also last year, Saini only achieved two counters in five games in a lamentable saving of 10.43. At 32, the margin of error has also decreased massively.
