Chelsea has taken a good start to the season at its beginnings, but in recent weeks, their shape has fallen from a cliff. It is now a five -game victory all competitions, this single victory being far from convincing against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

According to the football initiate, Mick Brown said that Maresca would soon suffer serious pressure if he does not improve the form and fortune of Chelsea.
“Winning a match in five is not good enough for any Chelsea manager. Sometimes you get these races in one season, especially by playing more than one game a week, where you can see that you have lost three or four games in no time. It is up to the manager to prove that it is only a drop in shape, rather than any problem of concern.
“I have said for quite a long time that Chelsea’s defensive unit is not good enough, they are vulnerable. When you can’t defend yourself well, you can’t win games, and it’s a big problem. I don’t think the players are good enough, but at the same time, the manager must organize things.
“There are Premier League teams with the worst defenders than Chelsea, but they defend better. So, if the manager cannot settle this, there will be serious questions and I think there are already questions asked.
“If they cannot quickly change this form, and this victory in five becomes six, seven, etc., you are starting to wonder if it is in a strong position. With the hierarchy in Chelsea, I am not sure that this is the case.”
Chelsea is back in the action of the Champions League on Tuesday as they welcome Benfica, before welcoming Liverpool to Stamford Bridge this weekend. They will have to win at least one of those to relieve part of the uncertainty surrounding Maresca.
