Indian Indie Developer Underdogs Studio has gathered a distribution of eminent actors for his next narrative adventure “Mukti”, marking the most ambitious project of the company based in Mumbai as part of the PlayStation India Hero project in Sony.
The release in 2026 featured the filmed performance of Ahilya Bamroo, known for its role in “I Want to Talk” by Shoojit Sircar, alongside the MK Raina theater veteran, Pawan Chopra and Sraman Chatterjee. Rather than relying on traditional animation or motion capture, the development team has shot the scenes of actors as film sequences before incorporating them into the interactive experience.
“These are not cams,” said Vaibhav Chavan, director of the game and founder of the oppressed studio. “They are the emotional nucleus of” Mukti “. Each performance has been treated as cinema, carefully directed and integrated transparent into the game.
Bamroo embodies the protagonist Arya Roy, while Raina confronts Dr. Vikram Roy, Chopra embodies Commodore Balraj Gill and Chatterjee represents Hasan. The studio positions the approach as central to provide what it calls a “revolutionary and immersive experience” which merges the mysteries and Indian cultural elements.
Located for PlayStation 5 and PC platforms, “Mukti” will offer a double-language voice acting in English and Hindi, with subtitles in additional languages to reach international markets. The project represents an important investment for Outside-Dogs, which recognizes the extended development calendar required for such elaborate production.
Sony’s India Hero project supports local studios in the creation of content with Global Appeal, and “Mukti” seems to be positioned to test whether the narrative games developed by the Indies can find consumer success on an international scale. Players can currently add the title to their wishes lists on PlayStation Store and Steam before its 2026 launch window.
