Sunday evening, Newsom published a letter officially demanding that the troops be withdrawn and Trump’s memo canceled.
Trump continued to feed the late tensions in Sunday evening, tweeting on Truth Social: “Having really hurt the troops!”
Newsom was visibly angry in the interview as he accused Trump of having created a situation of chaos and instability in Los Angeles, which he then claimed to want to resolve. But he said that the conflict in Los Angeles was a more sinister strategy to evolve towards authoritarianism.
