The former WWE star wasn’t the ‘female Brock Lesnar’

A former WWE star has denied she was the female Brock Lesnar in the promotion. The Beast has always been considered a dominant force in WWE, especially since his return, and any star receiving a similar push is immediately compared to him.
Shayna Baszler is a star who saw significant popularity on NXT during the brand’s Black and Gold days. The Queen of Spades won the NXT Women’s Championship twice and dominated her division.
Thanks for the submission!
She also had a strong performance in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match, entering at number 30 and eliminating eight competitors. During a conversation about PREVIEW with Chris Van Vlietthe host told Baszler that she felt like she was being booked “like a female Brock Lesnar” during this time.
However, the former women’s tag team champion dismissed the idea, saying she doesn’t see it that way.
“Yeah, so I had some issues with that, because I don’t even think about black and gold, I don’t think I’ve ever been a female Brock Lesnar. I think it’s a bad analogy. I think it’s an easy comparison to make, because oh, that badass. And also MMA,” she said.
Baszler signed with NXT in 2017 and remained a force in the women’s division for three years, successfully taking on all competitors. Her participation in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble further cemented her status as an unstoppable force.
Another WWE Star Compared to Brock Lesnar
Speaking on the CHAT AFTER with Bill Apter, Mark Henry compared Gunther to Brock Lesnar. The comparison was not about abilities or physical attributes, but something else.
Henry said that after making John Cena retire in his retirement match, The Ring General had the same weapon that Lesnar had when he ended The Undertaker’s unbeaten streak at WrestleMania in 2015.
There have been rumors that WWE built Gunther up as a monster heel and pushed his monster heel gimmick further after he defeated Goldberg and Cena in their final matches in WWE.
