The female final of the Cricket World Cup could be played in Sri Lanka if Pakistan involved in the middle of Indian tension | Cricket news

The final of the 2025 women’s cricket World Cup could take place in Sri Lanka in the middle of continuous tension between the hosts of India and neighboring Pakistan.

The International Cricket Council has appointed Stade R. Premadasa de Colombo, Mr. Chinnaswamy’s stadium in Bengaluru, Aca in Gowahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore and Aca-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam among the sites of the 50 team tournament, which takes place on September 30.

After India refused to go to Pakistan for the male champions trophy earlier this year, the ICC has decided to use neutral places for competitions organized by one or the other nation.

Pakistan will play its seven games around, including those against India and England, in Colombo and if they were doing the semi-final and the final, they too would be in the Sri Lankan city.

However, time could still have an impact on the tournament, which takes place until November 2, traditionally one of the wet months of the island nation.

India must be opened in Bengaluru – which will stage the final if Pakistan is not involved – although the full schedule of matches has not yet been announced.

Australia is reigning champions, having beaten England in the 2022 final in New Zealand after a delay caused by the Pandemic COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the ICC has confirmed that the hosts of England will play the opening match of the T20 Women’s World Cup 2026 in Edgbaston on June 12 of next year.

The two semi-finals will take place at the oval, while Lord’s will be the last place.
