The favorite fans star would receive a new WWE contract offer

With his WWE contract which should expire in a few days, a major update emerged on the status of Karrion Kross. According to a new report, the former NXT champion was offered a new contract by the company.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer radio, Dave Meltzer has clarified the evolving situation. He suggested that, despite uncertainty, he does not expect Kross and his wife, Scarlett, leave WWE.

A last minute offer

Meltzer confirmed that the previous reports on the fact that Kross did not have a new agreement was probably exact at the time. However, the situation has now changed, an offer being made as the deadline approach.

“I was told the story about him that was not signed with a contract. I heard that it was legitimate, but that he received an offer,” said Meltzer. “I was told that he had obtained an offer, and I don’t expect it to go anywhere.”

This last minute development occurs after weeks of intense speculation of fans on the future of the duo.

A familiar scenario?

Meltzer also suggested that WWE could intentionally transform the negotiation of Kross’s real life contract into a scenario. He established a parallel with the recent situation with R-TRUTH, whose unrephected contract reported led to an outcry of massive fans before being brought back from a major angle, revealing that the whole situation was a “work”.

“The quantity of mistrust that will be there in six months will be damn high,” warned Meltzer, noting that shocking the lines between real news and stories could have an impact on media credibility.

A career of ups and downs

Karrion Kross WWE trip was a roller coaster. He was a dominant NXT champion and twice before a first main call for the main alignment sees him stripped of his character and released in 2021. He was brought back by the new creative regime in 2022, but his second main race was marked by an inconsistent reservation.

This inconsistency is what fueled the recent movement of fans “We Want Kross”, which led to a higher profile role for him.

Powerful allies

Despite its reservation from top to bottom, Kross has powerful supporters behind the scenes. He has long been considered a “triple h guy” and recently received the strongest possible approval from Paul Heyman. On The Ariel Helwani showHeyman compared the support for organic fans of Kross to movements that have propelled legends like Steve Austin, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk in Superstardom. With this level of support, it seems that a new agreement has always been the probable result.
