The English bazball is overrated, does not work with India

Ind vs Eng: In the 11 tests against India in the Bazball era, England won only four, one being a draw.

In 2022, Kiwi Brendon McCullum inaugurated the test team in England in a new era – the Bazball era, where the team simply does not look for prints, goes for killing, in particular the striker, where they pass the rates through the sleeves exceeds 4.5 or even 5 above. Just imagine, Harry Brook hammering Indian quisors throughout the Oval park, in order to hunt 374 .. and he did it almost. He then scored 111 in just 98 deliveries and gave Indian fans a massive panic attack.

The Ind VS Eng series ends with a 2-2 draw

But then, only almost. In what turned out to be the perfect script for India, and not so perfect for hosts, they failed in just six points. With hindsight, if only one striker had fought more reasonably, the score line could well have been 1-3. But it shouldn’t be. For what? Because Bazball is not the most effective against India .. and also Australia.

According to a Cricbuzz statistic, since 2022, When the bazball era started, England has never won a series against India or Australia – and out of the 16 tests played, they only won 6. The victories of the series are nothing. Although this was powerful effective against the rest of the world, the victories of the series were 8/10, where they won 19 out of 25, and lost only 6.

Let’s break down this further. In 2023 Ashes vs aus, England managed to draw 2-2 at home. As for India, it all started with the last match in the 2021 series, which was played the following year. England won the one at home, but were not the best against the Indians. The following summer, they went down to the subcontinent to play a series of five games against the men of Rohit Sharma, and were hammered 4-1.

Ineffective bazball against ind and aus

And now. Although India has not Rohit, Virat Kohli and R Ashwin, the Ben Stokes team could only manage a 2-2 draw. This despite having dominated the oval race during the majority of the time. This 2-2 could have been a 3-1 in favor of India too, if Siraj and Jadeja had also won the Lord’s test.

There is just something about Bazball, which does not also work with India and Australia. As for the other teams, England beat the hell of the Antilles in 2024 (3-0), Sri Lanka (2-1), Pakistan (2-1) and New Zealand (2-1), in this period.
