It is difficult to highlight a performance of “The Pitt” as a show. Each distribution member “The Pitt” has delivered, which is part of what succeeded in the HBO Max medical drama. But there were favorites of the fans defined among the impressive whole, and the nurse in charge of Katherine Lanasa, Dana Evans, is one of the best examples.
Lanasa, who has been working since the early 90s, delivered a brilliantly naturalist representation of the besieged nurse who oversees the daily race for the Emergency Hospital of the Pittsburgh Medical Hospital Fictive Pittsburgh. A hard but sensitive member of the emergency team, Dana is a longtime friend and general supporter of Dr. Michael Robinavitch of Noah Wyle. But while the 15 -hour quarter of work is understood, we see the resilience of Dana decomposed when it is forced to resist tragedies and implacable stress of a particularly difficult day in the office, which is only aggravated when it is physically attacked by an angry patient.
The representation of this trip by Lanasa was remarkable for the way she made Dana feel hard and fragile, the actress demonstrating her own impressive sensitivity to the role and her requirements throughout the season. But it is far from the first time that Lanasa presented her talents, this is why it is a hell of a good thing that the Emmys finally saw the meaning and gave the actress his first appointment as a major actor.

No one was surprised to see “The Pitt” win 13 Emmy Emmy nominations for the 2025 prizes. Noah Wyle – who received an Emmy appointment for the best actor in a dramatic series – is obviously the most important veterinarian on “The Pitt”, especially since his representation of Dr Michael Robinavitch marks his return to medical drama more than 15 years after “Er”. Wyle played Dr. John Carter on this famous NBC series, but he is not the only actor of “The Pitt” to have appeared in the series, because Katherine Lanasa had a small guest role in 2002.
The star of “The Pitt” favorite fans crossed Wyle on “Er” (although she does not remember it) when she played a fiery mother in the episode of season 9 “Walk Like a Man”. This in itself would be enough to demonstrate how long Lanasa has made her thing, but her appearance “ER” came almost 10 years after her debut on television in 1994 in an episode of CBS Drama, “under suspion” – the same year that Wyle made his debut as John Carter on “ER”.
Throughout the 90s, Lanasa accumulated an impressive TV curriculum vitae, appearing in several of the biggest programs of the decade, including “Seinfeld”, “3rd rock from the Sun” and “Touched by An Angel”, to name a few. She was also not released after that, now a busy schedule throughout the 2000s and 2010s. She was the head of “Three Sisters” of NBC, which made her debut in 2001 and ran for two seasons, and won recurring roles in other shows, notably “Judging Amy”, “Two and a half” and “Longmire”. She played in the dramatic series of NBC “DECESS”, which lasted a season in 2013, before playing in the same way in several other series, including the drama of the American network “satisfaction”. More recently, she appeared in the admirable Disney rescue job “Daredevil: Born Again”, playing a Sledge Artemis Socialite – which does not mean anything about her cinematographic career, which was almost as varied and coherent. As such, it is pleasant to see the actress finally recognized with a better support actress in an appointment of the Emmy Dramatic series for her work on “The Pitt”.

In season 1 of “The Pitt”, Dana Evans is so shaken by the assault that she apparently decides to leave her role as a nurse at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Despite Dr. Robby’s best attempts and others to convince her of the contrary, the accusation nurse simply seems to be at the end of her rope, and Katherine Lanasa does an excellent job to transmit Dana’s exasperation with work that is often without recovery and quite often dangerous. It is a testimony of the actress’s talents that Dana has become a favorite of fans, and the name of the Emmy Name of Lanasa is only reaffirming how much she did a job in the role.
But all this makes the question of whether Lanasa will come back for season 2 of “The Pitt” – which should arrive in January 2026 – all the more urgent. Aside from the fact that fans love Dana, and its presence was an integral part of the whole during season 1, it is the simple fact that Lanasa has been working on television and cinema for decades and has not yet appeared on a major series which has the potential to take place for several seasons. As such, if Dana was to leave the staff of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, it would be a shame at the same time in terms of the show losing one of her best characters and Lanasa leaving a series just when she had apparently found the mega-hit that has so far escaped her.
Until now, the showrunner R. Scott Gemmill has suggested that Lanasa will return for season 2 of “The Pitt”, which is already confirmed to take place 10 months after the first season – although the actress herself has not yet confirmed this. 10 months is however long enough for Dana above all to have a change of heart retired as an infirmer, we therefore hope that it will be back.
