The elderly day returns to the field with Softball Yankees Relover

Kansas City, MO. – The day of the elders of this year will actually include a game at the Yankee Stadium.

It will not be baseball, as it was in the past, but a group of retired Yankees will participate in a softball match in August, confirmed the message, after the match of the old day has been replaced in recent years by a Q&R.

NJ Advance Media was the first to report the plan for a softball exhibition.

The last time the Yankees organized a match for the old day, it was in 2019, before the cancellation of the exhibition in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.

There were too many players dealing with injuries for a match to occur in 2022, then the organization has made questions and answers in the past two years – honoring the 25th anniversary of the World Series 1998 team in 2023 and the 15th anniversary of the 2009 championship in 2024.

The Yankees have not yet published a list of players who should play in the game or attend the old day, although this generally happens closer to the event.

It remains to be seen if Derek throw would play in a softball match, because the former captain said that he would not play in a match of the day of the elders.

“They will not see me again,” said throwing away last August. “No, I would be afraid of injuring myself. But that does not say that the reason why there is no game, it is because I do not play.
