The editor -in -chief of Wapo dismissed for justifying the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and his double down is even worse – Redstate

The Washington Post dismissed the editor -in -chief of world opinions from trainer Karen Attiah after seeing Charlie Kirk’s political assassination. This comes in the middle of a range of layoffs in several sectors of people who have apparently no self -control or the common decency to practice it.
Kirk was assassinated by an extreme left radical who had a “transfurry” boyfriend while organizing an open debate on a UTAH university campus. The shooter, Tyler Robinson, fled after shooting the fatal shot before his father and a young pastor relax and return him in a day later.
For its part, Attiah reacted to the shooting by publishing the following on the left site, Blue Sky.
“Black women do not have the power of brain treatment to take seriously. You should go and steal the machine to a white person.”
-Charlie Kirk
It was an obvious attempt to justify the kirk murder, which was quite bad. What was worse, however, is that the quote was manufactured. Kirk never said.
This led Attiah to be relieved of his duties at the post.
“The Washington Post dismissed me” on Charlie Kirk Posts, writes @Karenattiah.
“I was canceled by Columbia. I was now canceled by the Washington Post.” https://t.co/3klfcwq99h

Some immediately shouted that it was a negative example of “the right -wing cancellation culture”. In other words, if a columnist for a large newspaper cannot invent a quote to dirty someone who has been murdered, one of us really free? As I explained recently, we are allowed to use common sense when we discuss “cancel culture”.
Let me explain this to the leftists suddenly deeply concerned about the cancellation of culture.
Sleeping ancient tweets decades of jokes or hacking a political donation to make someone fired is to cancel the culture.
People who are currently turning, openly applauding murder are not to cancel culture.

After getting the boot, Attiah showed no remorse. Instead, she posted a photo of her putting fire to the post with a rose in her mouth. Included was a link to her substitution, where she doubled the false quote.

Unsurprisingly, Attiah has a story of extremism. In the days following the attacks of Hamas October 7, she reprimanded the president of the time, Joe Biden, for having offered support to Israel. After receiving criticisms for her casualness, she rejected by making fun of those who showed empathy to those who murdered Hamas. In 2018, Attiah also published an editorial by a terrorist chief of the Houthis, saying that his point of view was to be heard.
The real question is how she has kept her work for so long. Although I am happy that the position finally took measures, it is absurd that Attiah was maintained on the payroll for years, even if it excused violence against its perceived political opponents and promoted the ideas of Islamic terrorists. Finally, for fear that anyone who believes that Attiah was an absolutist of freedom of expression, she put pressure on to turn the publisher who published the OP-ED 2020 of Tom Cotton suggesting the use of the military to spread the spread and left riots.
So yes, I don’t think I’m interested in hearing about “canceling the culture” of these people.
