Spirit beats the wave late; Gotham and Reign Draw

Rosemonde Kouassi played a hero for the Washington Spirit, gathering the two goals in a Thriller 2-1 victory against the San Diego wave on Sunday.
Kouassi started with a threading header in the ninth minute, thanks to a decisive pass from Deborah Abiodun just inside the box. This was the only goal up to the fifth minute of the time to stop, when Delphine Cascarino of the Wave ended an offensive training calculated for the extension equalizer.
Three minutes later, Kouassi delivered the winning goal on a deeply shot of the Box for the Spirit (12-4-7, 43 points), which continue to sit comfortably in second place in the League classification.
While the mind has not lost a match in almost four months, this sorrow marks the seventh consecutive match of the wave (8-8-7, 31 points) without victory, barely hung on the eighth and last eliminatory spot on North Carolina by three points.
Gotham FC 0, reign 0
Claudia Dickey of Gotham FC (9-6-8, 35 points) displayed five stops to force a 0-0 impasse with the Reign de Seattle (9-7-7, 34 points) in Harrison, nj
The defense shone for the reign while Gotham controlled the possession of almost 64% of the match, but its 10 shooting attempts were unsuccessful. The reign has only managed one attempt to shoot for the match – and it was not on the frame.
Gotham, who has not lost since August 17, kept third place in the ranking and awaits a road date with Kansas City in the League on October 11.
Third Place Gotham and eighth place San Diego are separated by only three points in the race for the playoffs, with a few days privileged in the regular season.
Utah 2, Chicago 2
The stars of Chicago (2-11-10, 16 points) rallied for a draw with the Royals of Utah (5-11-7, 22 points) Sunday in Bridgeview, Ill.
Mina Tanaka engraved the two goals of Utah in the second half – an explosive shot from the arc below the 59th minute and a penalty goal in the 66th minute – to give the Royals an advance of 2-0.
The stars brought Ivonne Chacon and Micayla Johnson, 17, in the 79th minute and they paid rapid dividends. Chacon answered the 83rd minute with his first goal in the NWSL, then Johnson added his first goal for the equalizer to the 86th.
The Royals were one of the hottest teams in the League without defeat since August 8 – a period of eight consecutive games.
